You Don’t Need a Kindle Device to Read This Book
If you’ve ever thought, “I’ll buy the book later when I have time to figure it out,” this post is for you.
A surprisingly common question I get isn’t about investing at all; it’s about how to actually buy and read the book.
This book doesn’t work especially well in print. There are too many links, navigation tools, and connections to outside resources. It’s designed to be used digitally.
It works best on a tablet, but it’s also perfectly usable on a laptop. Because it’s heavily illustrated—and some of the images include detailed trade logs or trading screens—it may be hard to read on a phone.
Think of it as a tool and a reference guide, something you can easily return to when you have a question or want to revisit a concept. Everything lives in one place.
Here’s a quick visual walkthrough to help you add this book to your investing toolkit.
Best,Patricia
Step 1: Download the Free Kindle App
On your iPad or laptop, open the App Store (or your device’s app store) and search “Kindle.” Install the app.

Step 2: Open the Kindle App
After it installs, tap Open (or find Kindle on your home screen and tap it).

Step 3: Buy the Kindle Ebook on Amazon
Purchase the Kindle version of The Novice Investor’s Guide to Stocks, Funds, and Options on Amazon. Important- You buy it from Amazon, and read it on the Kindle app.
Make sure you’re using the same Amazon account that’s connected to your Kindle app.
Once you buy it, the book will appear automatically in your Kindle library. If Amazon asks where to deliver it, choose Kindle Cloud Reader or your iPad/Kindle app.

Step 4: Open Your Book in the Kindle Library
In the Kindle app, go to your Library and tap the book cover.
That opens the book. From here you can:
Resize the text
Zoom in on images
Use the table of contents to jump around

Step 5: Use the Table of Contents as Your Navigation Tool
This book is meant to be used like a reference guide, not necessarily read once from front to back.
Use the Table of Contents to:
Jump directly to the section you need right now
Move between chapters as questions come up
Come back later and review key concepts

Step 6: What’s Inside the Book
There are sections for:
Novice investors (getting ready to invest)
Novice options traders, including a chapter on trade management (what many people refer to as “The Wheel Strategy”)
You can start where you are and return to other sections later as you grow.
Each chapter includes:
A vocabulary list
Exercises
Review questions, with answers/definitions in the appendices
